      Project: Olympic Park; District Cooling and Heating Pipe Network

      Services: Civil Excavation Services

      Description: Civil Excavation and pipe installation of the 76km trenches providing all Heating and Cooling services across the Entire Olympic Park and Athletes Village. Managed and worked in partnership with multiple sub-contractors and suppliers ensuring works were completed in accordance with the NEC3 contract and programme schedules.

      Monitored and submitted Early Warning Notices and Compensation Events followed through to conclusion and included in Final Account valuations.


      Olympic Park Surveying

      Project: Middlesex University

      Value: £9.9 Million

      Client: MITIE Engineering Services (South East) Limited.

      Managing Contractor: Vinci Limited.

      Services: Mechanical & Electrical Services

      Description: KING Surveying Services were specifically engaged to organise, value and update the variation account containing over 150 unsubstantiated variations. The Change Orders required back-up information, costs and data to be correctly collated measured and compiled into substantiated variation costs before being submitted to the management contractor. The form of contract was GCWks 1 1998.

      Working through all aspects of the Middlesex University Project, KING Surveying Services were able to assist in increasing MITIE’s valuations and reaching a final settlement figure through the uplifted substantiated variation account which included the following areas:

      • TV Studio Works worth over £500,000 with mechanical and electrical services including: Air-Conditioning, small power, lighting, specialist TV and sound recording systems, and the fire alarm and safety system.

      • Specialist Northern Lighting Rigs specifically designed for media centre.

      Middlesex University

      Project: Canada Water Library

      Value: £6.5 Million

      Client: Inviron Limited

      Main Contractor: ISG Jackson Limited

      Services: Mechanical & Electrical Services

      Description: KING Surveying Services were engaged by Inviron Limited to co-ordinate commercially the installation of internal services at Canada Water Library including a claim for delayed commencement, in which they supported the management contractors claim. They have built up a strong relationship with the management contractor.

      Throughout this project, KING Surveying Services have also provided the commercial and financial assistance with the following:

      • Complete Air-Handling and Air-Conditioning Services Systems

      • Provisions of a full plumbing network and the supply of clean drinking water

      • Waste and Drainage removal

      • Full lighting layout in co-ordination with the drawing design and window placement to ensure natural light is used where possible

      • Complete Fire Alarm System

      • Electrical installation including an Induction Loop system for use in a public environment

      • Total Power installation for both HV and LV systems, with all current health and safety precautions included

      In addition to the full Mechanical and Electrical Quantity Surveying Services supplied, KING Surveying Services also liaised with specialist sub contractors, dealing with Security and Access, Data Cabling and specialist lighting for the 'Performance Space' in the Library.

      With current edge design and architectural styling's, KING Surveying Services are working at the very fore-front of modern day design and build projects providing an accurate and objective assessment of the mechanical, electrical and building services required for each project.


      Canada Water Library

      Project: Gatwick Airport

      Value: £5.5 Million per annum

      Client: Inviron

      Managing Client: BAA Gatwick

      Services: Mechanical & Electrical Services

      Description: Retained by Inviron at Gatwick Airport, KING Surveying Services carry out all the commercial and contractual dealings for the wide variety of works at the airport, including:

      • Installation of small power and lighting contracts in a variety of areas across Terminal 2;

      • The investigation and reporting of the large pipe networks containing many unnecessary and complicated systems reducing the effectiveness of the air-conditioning and heating service;

      • Specialist waste and drainage installation within a pond network to deal effectively with the waste and excess fluids from the runways;

      • The Pier 2 Project comprising full mechanical and electrical installations including; small power, lighting, drainage, air-conditioning, LTHW pipe and fire alarm systems.

      As indicated this is just a mere sample of the works carried out at Gatwick. KING Surveying Services are heavily involved in a large percentage of works commissioned at the Gatwick Terminals and are involved with all commercial and financial aspects within the Building Services works.


      Gatwick Airport

      Project: National Audit Office

      Value: £21.5 Million

      Client: MITIE Engineering Services

      Services: Mechanical & Electrical Services

      Description: The refurbishment of the National Audit Offices, Buckingham Palace Road was a sustainable refurbishment scheme with specific environmentally friendly features including grey water harvesting, energy conscious environmental services, air conditioning utilising energy efficient heating beams and PIR controlled lighting throughout.

      The Management Contractor, Wates Construction Limited adopted a NEC 3 form of contract for the project. KING Surveying Services provided a full project commercial service from the initial strip out works until PC and final account agreement.


      National Audit Office

      Project: Aldersgate offices

      Value: £19.8 Million

      Client: MITIE Engineering Services

      Services: Mechanical Services

      Description: 200 Aldersgate was a strip out and core, followed by a refit on 17 floors for MITIE South East. Installation included 2 boiler houses, 8 plant-rooms, 850 fan coil units with associated ductwork and pipework.

      KING Surveying Services attended to all commercial aspects of the contract including the management sub-contractors’ contract and variation accounts, monthly valuations, variations, CRF’s, claims and agreeing the final account before PC with Bovis Lend Lease Limited.


      200 Aldersgate

      Project: Westfield Shopping Centre, White City – Café Court

      Value: £2 Million

      Client: Inviron

      Services: Ductwork, Lighting & Small Power

      Description: Installation of Fire Rated Extract Ductwork for the various kitchens serving the Café Court area of this prestigious new build shopping centre, the largest in Europe. Specialist lighting supplied and installed at both high and low level within both the ceiling and uniquely designed dining furniture.

      A full project commercial role undertaken from estimating services and procurement, through to final account negotiation.


      Westfield Shopping Centre, White City – Café Court

      Project: O2 Waterfront, Leisure & Entertainment District

      Value: Estimated £5 Million

      Client: Axima Suez

      Services: Shell & Core Pipework Services

      Description: Axima installed shell & core pipework only to the leisure & entertainment district within the refurfished O2 arena. The measurement and valuing of variations on the project was undertaken.

      Description:
      Inviron supplied and installed a number of the services, including working with the Designers to ensure the successful completion of a new Swimming Pool in Wellingbrough, which includes a gym and dance studio, along with Management office areas and changing village.

      Description:
      Inviron installed a whole range of Mechanical & Electrical services into the high profile planetarium and educational facility situated in Greenwich Park, including specialist lighting, security, fire alarm and controls all linked in with the main Museum control systems.

      Greenwich Time and Space Project

      Project: Addensbrooke Hospital PFI, Cambridge

      Value: £26 Million M&E

      Client: Haden Young Limited

      Services: Mechanical, Public Health, Electrical and Specialist Medical Installation

      Haden Young in partnership with Alfred McAlpine provided the full range of mechanical & electrical services supplied and installed for the new building including, chilled water, domestic services, drainage, medical gas supply, RO water, ventilation, small power, lighting, backup power generation, fire alarm, BMS and lift installations.

      A full project commercial role was undertaken, including valuations, cost monitoring & reporting, sub contract management, the valuing, and agreement of variations and final account negotiation.


      Addenbrookes Hospital

      Project: Bedford Hospital - Pathology Department New Build

      Value: £1.6 Million

      Description:
      Inviron provided a full range of Mechanical & Electrical services, supplied & installed for the new building including Steam, Chilled Water, Domestic Services & Drainage, Small Power, Lighting, Fire Alarm & BMS.
